I don’t recall much of the movie, except that SriDevi and KamalHasan were at their critically best performances. I had no idea of Box Office collection of the movie, but it surely was a great movie.
AyeZindagiGaleLagaaLe, was a beautiful number sung by SureshWadkar….and SurmayeeAnkhiyonMein by #Yesudas still transcends into a world of romance and affection instantly.
Sri Devi और Kamal Hasan की कमाल की एक्टिंग
Kamal Hasan played a school teacher who rescues #SriDevi from a brothel. She was tricked a force entry into this brothel after meeting an accident. Otherwise a normal chirpy young girl, she behaves a 7 years old girl,as an autistic child, after serious head injury, and Kamal Hasan (have forgotten his name) falls in love with her during the process of care-giving.
Silk Smita की जादुई छवि
SilkSmita (I recall there was one song-dance where SmitaSilk and KH were dressed like some janglee…ha ha ha….as youngsters, we discussed more about her thighs than the dance skills and song…uff) played KH’s boss’s wife who was attracted, and never looses an opportunity to tempt him with sexual overture. She definitely acted very well. That was my first and last movie of Silk and, next I hear about her was her Suicide.
Ilayaraaja का संगीत और Balu Mahendra की निर्देशन कला
Music was pucca by #Ilayaraaja, and it was directed by BaluMahendra. It was nominated in 3 categories for FilmFareAwards, and couldn’t win one, despite huge critical acclaim it received from all corners.

In short: SriDevi charmed everyone with her powerful performance in a critical role. Her baby face only complimented her in this role. Travelling back to Sadma and the kinf od appreciation she had received post EnglishVinglish, justifies her prowess of reigning Bollywood for many decades.
